Key Takeaways

  • Best for: Jackery Explorer owners who want a plug-in solar panel
  • Standout: IP68, 14.3 lb, and USB ports built into the panel
  • Watch out: other brands need a DC8020 adapter, and it costs more per watt
  • Not for: budget buyers or owners of non-Jackery stations

The Jackery SolarSaga 200W is a folding, two-sided solar panel that recharges a portable power station during a long outage or a camping trip. It lists at $429 on Jackery.com and usually sells for about $379.

Want to see how much a panel would refill your battery during an outage? Our Whole-Home Energy Calculator lets you pick a panel and a power station, then shows the daily refill, how long your essentials would run and which cable the pair needs.

What it can power

With 4 to 5 hours of good sun and typical real-world losses, one panel should put roughly 600 to 750Wh a day into a battery (estimate: 200W x 4-5 sun hours x 0.75). That is roughly half a day’s use for a full-size fridge, or a full 1kWh station in about two sunny days. Winter sun, clouds and a flat, untilted panel can cut that by half or more, so aim it at the sun and adjust it every couple of hours.

Compatibility

  • Jackery Explorer v2, Plus and Pro models: plugs into their DC8020 solar port directly.
  • Older Explorers with a DC7909 port: use the included DC8020-to-DC7909 adapter.
  • EcoFlow, BLUETTI, Anker and others: need a third-party DC8020-to-MC4 or XT60 adapter.
  • Two in series: about 44V open-circuit, which fits 60V inputs.

Pros

  • Plugs straight into newer Jackery stations, with a DC7909 adapter in the box for older ones
  • IP68 dust and water rating, the top rating in this group
  • Rear side adds output over light ground, rated 225W combined
  • Built-in USB-A and USB-C ports charge a phone right from the panel
  • 3-year warranty, extended to 5 years when bought from Jackery.com

Cons

  • Non-Jackery stations need a third-party DC8020 adapter
  • Rear-side gain drops to about 5-10% over grass (Backup Power Hub)
  • More than double the price of a 200W ALLPOWERS folder
  • Low 18V output wastes the headroom on high-voltage solar inputs

Buy it if you own a Jackery station and want a light, weatherproof panel that just plugs in. If you own another brand or want the cheapest watts, the ALLPOWERS SE200 costs well under half as much.

Common Questions

Can I leave it outside for days?
It is IP68 rated, so rain will not hurt it, but it is a folding panel meant to be packed away. For a panel that lives outdoors year-round, a rigid framed panel is the better fit.
Does it work through a window?
Barely. Window glass and screens cut output sharply, so set it up outside in direct sun whenever you can.
How do I clean it?
Rinse or wipe it with water and a soft cloth, then let it dry before folding. Skip harsh cleaners and abrasive pads.
